MIAMI - Federal officials say a passenger has been taken into custody after screeners detected something suspicious in a checked bag at Miami International Airport.

Southern Sudan 's government, which will hold a referendum in January on whether to secede from Sudan, is acquiring 10 Russian helicopters that give the semi- autonomous region its first aerial capability.
The Fairhope Airport Authority approved an $8.9 million bond issue this week with RBC Bank that will retire the debt on a bond issue from 2007 with Allied Irish Bank used to finance the purchase of 257 acres at the H.L. "Sonny" Callahan Airport.
